Prior to forming Bealer Consulting, Don worked for a major regulatory consulting firm, representing five (5) state regulatory agencies.   Reserving duties included analyses of a varied selection of companies for all lines of business.  The types of companies included start-up companies, primary insurers, specialty carriers, and reinsurers.  He was also retained as an expert witness in numerous rate related cases, including two jurisdictions that underwent massive no-fault law revisions.  Don also was involved with reinsurance contract interpretations and commutation agreements.

His initial consulting experience was developed at a Big Four Accounting Firm, where he represented numerous private and government clients in such areas as reserving, pricing, reinsurance, and funding for self-insured plans and risk retention groups.  Don worked extensively with some of the more difficult coverages such as Workers' Compensation, Liquor Liability, and Medical Malpractice.  He represented numerous hospitals in establishing tail coverage reserves in accordance with SOP 87-1. Don also prepared rate filings in response to Proposition 103 in California.

Prior to entering the consulting field in 1987, Don served fifteen years as the personal lines manager for a large multiple line insurance company.  His responsibilities included pricing, reserving, product development, rate filings, and excess profit filings.
